I am an early career researcher with a strong interest in microscopy at the nanoscale and materials science with a background in Chemistry and Molecular biology. I am particularly interested in bactericidal surfaces, and understanding the bactericidal mechanism shown by nanopillared structures found on the wing surface of dragonflies and cicadas. I have experience in bacteria culture, working with cell lines, resin embedding, fluorescence microscopy, electron and ion beam imaging, TEM, and AFM. In my current projects at UFZ, I am working on the identification of bacteria in the rhizosphere, and using deep learning methods for image segmentation, and method development to identify corona virus in aerosols.
